November 5th, 1979, Monday, it was when David and I met, through making the right decision and making the right choice. Fast forward to today, November, 5th, 2011, we are here, back in Park Slope, New York starting our 33rd year together. Amazing, on a double digit month in a double digit year, we are starting our double digit year together.
We are here because of our little cousin's wedding. She is big now, passed her medical school and everything. How would you know, 33 years ago, this little baby would be a doctor, getting married to another doctor. We flew back to New York from Texas, where we have lived for 12 1/2 years.
We're staying with our oldest son, the eldest in our family - Adam and his family, in Park Slope, Brooklyn, NY. It just dawned on me this morning, we are back here where we started 33 years ago. It is beautiful, reminiscing about the old days, with the grand kids and the children that created our memories along the way.
My daughter, who just got married last year, is on her way with her husband Peter, to pick me up and travel to my cousin's wedding in Long Island. David is staying home with our youngest grand child so she can go to bed early. I can party late ;-)
I am grateful and thankful. This is the reason why we started our family journal. There are many wonderful family stories from many people that go unheard. Many people around us also have special family stories that people can pick up a few tips here and there.
For this reason, we are inviting other families to join in and share their wonderful stories. We write only good and educational stories for those who would like to read good family stories and enjoy them for good family fun.
